Dr. Courtney Blake
Owner, DVM
Dr. Courtney Blake is so excited to start working with you and your pets! She is passionate about being a veterinarian and understands the importance of the human animal bond. She graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004 and has been practicing veterinary medicine for the past 17 years in the Twin Cities.
Dr. Blake has seen all species ever since she started in practice. If they are important to you, they are important to her. Dr. Blake knows that it doesn’t matter if they are furry, scaly or feathered, all species can make great companions. When Dr. Blake was first starting in the field she thought she wanted to work in a zoo. While she loves unique species and the conservation work, she realized she missed the owners and working with them to provide the best possible life for their pets. It was the right decision to go into companion animal medicine and she has never looked back. She has been blessed to be able to provide care from the smallest little anole all the way up to lions and tigers (not pets!). She is excited to work with your dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and pocket pets. Dr. Blake also provides acupuncture services for your pets. If your pet is having mobility issues or other concerns, acupuncture is just one more tool she has in her arsenal to help your pets.
Dr. Blake moved here from the Chicago area for vet school and fell in love with Minnesota. She loves how accessible nature is here and all the seasons. She lives in Minnetonka with her husband, two daughters and their old lady dog, Lucy. In their down time they love to explore state and national parks and they hike or canoe as often as they can.
Alisa
Certified Veterinary Technician
I decided to become a vet tech around the age of 5 when I found out it was an actual job. I couldn’t believe there was a career that allowed you to learn about animals and how to care for them and also filled a desire to go into a science based field. Now I get to help people and their pets and I love it!
I graduated from the Minnesota School of Business 2007 with an associates of applied science in animal health. I became certified in 2008 and have been practicing for the last 14 years with both dogs and cats as well as exotics.
I currently have 4 cats that I took in as a sick litter of 3-day-old kittens. My intention was to bottle feed and foster them until I could find forever homes with them. Little did I know that their forever home would end up with me. Thunder, Mochi, Hawk, and Cow live the cushy life now and are learning to love their new human brothers. I love all species, though, and I have previously had a dog, lizard, rabbit, guinea pigs, chinchillas, fish, fiddler crabs, and rats.
I love getting to work with all kinds of animals and working with their human family to give them the healthiest and happiest life possible.
I have two boys under the age of 3 and a husband of 4 years, so we stay pretty busy! I love spending time with my family outside hiking, swimming, picnicking, or walking and playing at a local park. In my spare time, I also enjoy cooking, baking, antiquing, traveling, photography, and art.
